Gerald V. "Skip" Lawver, Associate Professor; Director, Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE), Eastern Michigan University
The Michigan Cyber Range is a cloud-based education, training, and testing platform operated by Merit Network, Inc. Utilizing Merit's extensive fiber optic network, the Cyber Range is currently connected to 60% of the K-12 ISD/RESAs in the state, resulting in over a million Michigan students having access to the Range's courses and lab exercises through secure networking technology. Industry partners will utilize the same hardware to conduct training and security exercises, as well as to test new products and procedures. The Cyber Range's strategic goal is to build, train, and equip the state's workforce through the entire spectrum.
